ABOUT THE EVENT

Join Integrity Initiative, How to Be Well, and the case of Unfiltered at AH Bracks Library, supported by the City of Melville, for a FREE evening jam-packed with a Lived Experience, youth-made film, community, and panel discussion around the nuance of Lived Experience in a youth space.

Produced by Rachael Burns (Integrity Initiative) and Lily Gresele (How To Be Well), Unfiltered is a 30-minute Lived Experience documentary that explores disability, mental health, youth work, and the strength of community through honest storytelling.

This inclusive, sensory-friendly event invites guests to learn, enjoy a free popcorn bar, browse a selection of stalls, and hear from the cast and creators of Unfiltered.

ABOUT THE FILM

More than a film, Unfiltered is a celebration of lived experience, shared wisdom, and the people who continue to create change through their stories.

Unfiltered was created entirely independently and guided by the theme "Empowering Communities, Thriving Workforces".

It explores Peer work, intersectionality and community through honest, unfiltered interviews.

Join us to hear the stories of seven Western Australians - Natalee Blakemore, Eva Cocks, Lana Moon, Annabel Tannenbaum, Jacob Gaitskell, Allison McDonald, and Zoe Diakoloukas.

Recognition of Lived Experience

The Consumer/Survivor Movement calls for human rights, recognition, and justice for people with lived experience of mental health challenges, psychiatric treatment, and systemic coercion. Integrity Initiative’s work builds on this legacy. It is iterative, and shaped by the advocacy of those who came before us, across this and many intersecting movements

We acknowledge those who fought for a voice, those still navigating oppressive systems, those resisting in ways unseen, and those yet to come. We carry this work forward with a commitment to not only hope for a better future, but to actively challenge the conditions that have caused harm.

Acknowledgement of country

Integrity Initiative acknowledges the traditional custodians of the Boodjar on which we work, the Whadjuk Noongar people. We pay respect to Elders past and present, and extend our appreciation for their custodianship of so-called Australia. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
